About
For more than 40 years, members of the Greater Pinelands Dulcimer Society (GPDS) have been getting together to play and share traditional and folk music, and music of the British Isles.
GPDS welcomes:
All acoustic instruments, including fiddles, guitars,
banjos, ukuleles, folk harps, and - of course - our namesake mountain
and hammered dulcimers.
Players of all ages and skill levels.
GPDS offers a variety of activities:
Monthly business/program meetings
Practice groups for all skill levels
Jams
Workshops/concerts by visiting artists
GPDS is configured into three groups:
The Confidence Clinic group provides the mountain dulcimer
player an opportunity to play a variety of tunes at a slower,
more relaxed pace.
The Mountain Dulcimer Only group is an ensemble where members
play in parts, and the mountain dulcimer can always be heard.
Dulcimers in mixed tunings, banjammers, baritones, and bass
dulcimers are all welcome.
The Performance group presents club music at area venues using a
variety of acoustic instruments. All members are welcome to
perform. The group also interacts with the audience discussing
the club, music and instruments.
